Devlog #8
Hello Penguins!
All the levels are now decorated with pretty snowy meshes and green trees. The UVs are also all updated so there's no weird scaling.
The majority of the blockout meshes have been updated and properly unwrapped. These updated meshes have been integrated into all levels. There were some initial problems with the pressure plate and gate meshes in the puzzles, but these are now resolved. Additionally, a few new puzzles featuring the snowball mechanic have been added. This week, we also constructed the arena for the boss fight.
We also started working on UI, beginning with the buttons for the join screen:
For the programmers this week:
One of the things we wanted in the game to ensure replayability, was spawning in the different levels randomly. This creates a random playthrough every time the game is played. We made sure that the game always starts with some easier levels to make sure that players can get into the game before it gets too challenging.
Another thing that was added is a placeholder menu. When the game is opened, the players have the choice to instantly play or to first take a look at the controls. This will make sure that the players aren't immediately dropped into the game without being ready or without knowing the controls.
We've added a new enemy mechanic, the fan attack!
And also integrated the enemy's rig into our game and implemented animations for the Mine attack and enemy Idle state.
