Devlog#4 Let production begin!


Hello hello!

This week, after tying up our research phase, we now started headfirst into production! We finished our prototype, and already had a lot of fun testing it out. However, after all that we are very excited to start actually making the game!

We began distributing work , and soon enough everyone began working on their according tasks. The artists began making blockouts for the most essential assets we want to have in our game, as well as concept art for important models like the polar bear. Annelies also already thought of lots of different puzzles. On top of that, Yana created our first penguin animations and a blockout for the lazer vfx!

Our programmers worked on implementing the basic needs such as spawning in and moving around, as well as the different puzzle elements. Here's a list of things that are already working:

  • Pressure plates
  • Levers & interaction mechanic
  • Gate mechanic
  • Crate pulling mechanic

We also had to troubleshoot our toon shader since it gave us some trouble in the new unity project, but now it's up and running again. Here's a quick glance into what the game is going to play like!

With a good start to the production phase we are hyped to continue updating you on our progress. And again, don't hesitate to download our build already and to give us feedback on it!
